Linear system approach to optical system, Fourier transform and
imaging properties of lenses, spatial filtering, coherent optical processing, incoherent optical processing, Holography, optical pattern recognition, optical associative memory and neural network.

Lectures with a few experimental demonstrations.
(Hardware required for the experimental demonstration has been
ordered).Students' progress will be evaluated via in-class discussion, homework
exercises, and mid-term & final examinations.
